The greenhouse project is going gangbusters. This week we have been laying out beds and filling them with a soil mix. Next week we will pour a concrete pad at the front of the greenhouse and concrete pathways around the beds.
Also this week, we zipped over to Brunswick with half the crew on Wednesday afternoon to start an experiment. We were using Turtle Rock Farm's kitchen to make two batches of garlic scape pesto. We got it all done, though not without a few hiccups, and now we have over one hundred 8-ounce containers of certified organic garlic scape pesto in the freezer - in two flavors! - plain and parsley. They are frozen and we will be bringing them to market starting tomorrow!
Also new at market this week we will have half-pints of raspberries! In fact, if you came to the market Tuesday, you might have even seen some raspberries before they sold out. They are just starting to come in, so look for more next week if you don't see them this week!
