This week we brought melons to the market for the first time. We have some watermelon, cantaloupe, and ananas melons. Ananas has a ivory-colored flesh with a pear-like texture. It is just as delicious as the rest. It's hard to compare anything to a really ripe, field-grown melon.
We started roasting peppers at Crystal Spring Farmers' Market last weekend - just a taste! Now they're starting to come in more heavily, we will be roasting there on Saturdays until the peppers are gone.
Here's a fun photo for this week below. A month or so ago we noticed a bird's nest in one of our tomato tunnels. We didn't think that the mama bird would come back once we started picking tomatoes, but she did! The birds hatched last week!
